Room 423, Monday after classes [2/18]

There was only so much socializing that Hoshi could stand before needing a little quiet time. And after a very busy Friday and Saturday, Hoshi pretty much disappeared into her room for the remainder of the weekend.

Annette was somewhat dreading this but after work, she decided to stop by Hoshi's room and talk to her. About things.

She knocked on the frame. "Hey, Hoshi, you got a minute or two?"

Hoshi poured two mugs of tea and handed one to Annette. "I'm okay," she said. "Just kind of winding down a bit. This weekend was pretty crazy. How about you? Jack said that you guys had a really good time at the dance."

Annette took a sip of tea while she tried to get over a quick inward flailing over the mentioning of Jack's name. "The dance was very nice, yes," she managed and smiled. "Did you enjoy yourself with Michael?"

"It was pretty good," said Hoshi. "He just wasn't into the social scene as much as I was, which was just weird because I've never really been a social person. But it was a nice night. It was nice to catch up with a lot of other people, like Turtle."

"Huh, I didn't see Turtle there," Annette mused out loud, sipping more of her tea. "This is good by the way. Mr. Phale, he's gone now, but he used to make the best tea. I miss it."

Annette was digressing, terribly so, but bringing up Michael and Ino and just the whole thing was harder than she thought it was going to be.

"I should apologize to you about my behavior that evening at Caritas. I was a tad tipsy." She was more than that, but admitting she was drunk just didn't sound good.

"Just a little bit tipsy?" asked Hoshi, smirking. "That's okay. You didn't seem that bad to me."

"She's one of my friends too. At least, I think she is," said Hoshi. "She was a little distant in class on Thursday, but I was busy with the assignment."

Annette kind of nodded. "Did you, um, you knew about her and Michael, right?"

"She said that they were just friends," said Hoshi. "I asked her. She said that she technically wasn't with anyone." Remembering how Ino stayed away from her in class, she worriedly asked, "Is Ino mad at me?"
