I took a drive out on New Years evening to Castleton as I hadn't been out there to see the Christmas lights. I got there at 9pm with the hopes that the village would be quiet, and apart from the occasional couple walking from one pub to another, the streets were empty!! That is super pretty. Just over the Pennsylvania there is a city called Bethlehem (IKR???) and I hear tell they decorate the historic downtown beautifully for Christmas but somehow in 50 years of living have never seen it.

That used to be our family tradition to go there on Boxing Day. Just been studying those photos to see if I can spot the pub where my daft relatives ended up getting into an argument with the waiter, with the man at the next table weighing in and saying something like "I'd have taken him outside for that, mate".
