New Years Eve

Jan 02, 2017 12:04

On New Years Eve, Steve and I did our 'Christmas holiday drive out' to Castleton to see the Christmas lights. The people who live there decorate their whole village with coloured lights and Christmas trees and it is a lovely place to visit.

My pictures really don't do the place justice! -

Thank you I'm glad you liked them x

It was very, very windy there that evening, and it got colder the later into the evening we stayed!!

It is a really beautiful place.

No Sadly! We haven't had any snow at all so far this winter. The snow pictures were a couple I found on the internet.

I forgot to say that my icon picture was taken while I was stood on the bridge with the lights, looking the other way...but not on NYE, it was taken in the summertime!

Yes it's so near by car. It's only about 35 mins drive away from where I live. As the crow flies its probably only about 13 miles away but the roads are quite narrow and winding.

Ah, yes. I remember those very British hedgerows all too well, especially the part about having to back up every time a lorry came down the lane. I was driving a car with an unfamiliar standard transmission, too! I did well with staying to the left, but in some of those tight little lanes, there IS no left! It's a wonder I survived.

Bet that was quite hard for you! I've ridden a pedal bike in Europe but I'd be scared of driving a left hand drive car, on the right!
