I felt I should put it in as although the River Tees is a huge river around here I don't think many people living outside of the UK would have heard of it. I also thought that the connection between Peg Powler and the topic of 'Crossing the River Tees' might be missed.

It's odd that I knew of the legend when I didn't even live in that area and then to overhear someone talk about it when I haven't heard the name for about forty years was quite weird!
