Hey Lana... I think I might have to postpone our next visit. I'm all bunged up from a bloody summer cold... Don't worry though! I've been drinking Emergen-C and it's not that bad, I just don't want to risk you catching it too and then passing it around the whole prison ( Read more... )

Aw, sis... Please take care of yourself. Chicken soup, orange juice and lots of water. Rest up and let me know when you feel better. I don't want your cold to turn into something worse because you're overexerting yourself.

*tries not to fret*

... Should I call someone to bring you anything?

Oh, no! Don't worry about me Lana! I was just hoping that no one around you was feeling under the weather too- oh jeez. I'm really okay though. In fact, I'm about 89.9% better since I last posted this.

Oh no, a summer cold! Those can be quite an unpleasant inconvenience. I do hope you're feeling all better soon, Ms. Skye.

If you'd like, I can send you some of the special herbal cough drops we have here at the embassy. They're not available in the US, as their export is limited, but I've always found them to be very soothing.

That would be very sweet of you!

I'd really appreciate that, Ambassador. :] And I'm sure it would make Lana feel a little better too, h-haha.

I went ahead and sent the drops to you, Ms. Skye. There was a lot of paperwork involved, so I do hope they're not too late. Apparently there's a bit of trouble with one of the ingredients--there are so many import and export laws, it's hard to keep track of them all, but I've sorted it all out now!

As far as I know, we haven't been plagued by any particular contagious illness inside, just the usual complaints, many of which are exaggerated by those making them. I know most of what goes on in the medical ward, so you can count on my information.

Take care of yourself, Ema, and feel better soon. I recommend a hot cup of coffee in the morning to help you face the day. Not exactly a cure for the common cold, but I find it does relieve some of the symptoms, especially of a head cold. And the steam will soothe your sinuses.

That's a relief, Mr. Armando.

Coffee, huh? I took a moment to look up some stuff on a "science information centre" website, and apparently coffee is pretty loaded with antioxidants- more than tea even! So that's not a bad idea.

Tea gets a lot of credit for its antioxidants, but it's really coffee that deserves the acclaim. Though your sister is trying to convert me to tea--without much result, I'm afraid. Maybe she likes a challenge.

Let me know if it helps.

Ooh, summer cold, that sucks! You have any allergies, Em'? Like, I hope they're not making it worse if you do.

Just go easy on yourself, though! Don't want that cold to turn into something nasty like pneumonia. Emergen-C isn't bad, but Coldkiller X works faster. It might tire you out a bit more, but tea can help balance that out!
