This is one of the reasons their marriage never made sense to me. Torchwood always takes priority and it will kill the relationship sooner or later.

Yeah, it would have made more sense to have Gwen's relationship crash and burn than to go through with the marriage, that was poor writing. I'm quite fond of Rhys, but he shouldn't have been kept around as Gwen's handbag, it's a waste of a character.

I fear it was all just a symptom of her being the 'heart' of Torchwood. (Unless of course they're intending on seconding him as their Logistics Expert in Season 3).
