Oh yeah, a younger them when John was feeling 'kind' - before shit happened and hardcore bitterness crept in.

It's where he first learned to fix stuff, tie knots and generally, all round, be prepared for anything. All very useful for the life of a conman and later, life aboard the TARDIS ;-)
