[OPEN TO ALL]

Out of all the things in his life that Ethan had worked towards and achieved, he was pretty sure he had never been this exhausted in his life. The wedding was over, and Stuart and Tom had finally managed to tie the knot, only one hour later than originally expected. Stuart had arrived at the ceremony just as Tom was about to panic, ( Read more... )

Once Braden was absolutely sure his baby brother was happy and content, and that the marriage was well and truly signed, sealed and delivered, he excused himself from the table containing some aunts, uncles and cousins and slipped outside to get some fresh air. The guilt over the disaster he had caused that morning was still weighing heavily. He had managed to stamp it down for the ceremony and the formalities of the reception (as formal as a non-traditional gay wedding could be), but the truth was, he felt terrible for his emotions exploding when they did. It was like Callum's news just came as a prick to an over-inflated emotional balloon that was Braden's feelings ( ... )

James had decided that starting to bawl loudly and incessantly was appropriate wedding ettiquette. Renee was still finding her feet with this new mother thing, and was, of course, mortified at the baby bawling in the middle of the celebrations. She tried all the usual things that got him to stop, but had no luck. She finally just decided to bundle him up in the buggy and take him outside so he didn't bother the other guests who were drinking and having a good time. Of course, booze was out for her considering she was breastfeeding, and she was starting to get tired ( ... )

Braden held up his hand. "Nay, it's okay. I promise. You dinnae have to run away. I'm a paramedic. Crying bairns really arenae a bother," he reassured her with a smile. "He doesnae look happy, mind. Poor wee laddie." He reflexively just stepped over to her, not even sure if he could help or if she needed it.

He smiled and briefly brushed his fingers over the baby's fine hair. "He's beautiful. How old?" he asked. "Oh, I'm Braden, by the way. Apologies for being so rude. Tell me to feck off if you want. I just needed some air."

"Ten weeks," Renee replied, trying to nurse James close to her so he would stop trying to twist out of her hands admist the sobbing. Now that Braden was closer, she realised who he was. One of Stuart's cute brothers. She would be lying if she didn't admit she had taken in the lovely views of the Scot's Best Men throughout the ceremony. There was something about the kilt that just set pulses racing, and to have five hotties in them standing up front for the world to see was a treat.

She looked over his face curiously. "One of Stuart's brothers. I know now, see. Forgive me. I stress out when he cries like this. It's really not like him at all. He's been a good baby, I've been blessed. So this is just... I feel like I want to cry with him," she admitted sheepishly. "I'm Renee. One of the middle Morgans. This is the first time I've seen you, but I swear I know you from somewhere."

Two weddings in two days and Aoife was starting to feel a little like she might never be sober again. She wasn't exactly drunk, but she wasn't exactly in a fit state to be driving, or operating heavy machinery. It also served to make her a little more brazen than usual and given that there wasn't a crowd following Neil around at the private party, she sucked in a breath and made her way over to him.

As soon as she was close enough she threw her arms around his neck and pulled him into a passionate kiss as she pressed her body against his. Her eyes were dark when she pulled back, and she gave him a huge smile. "Hello, stranger."

Oh hell. A drunk chick. Really not Neil's scene, and he peeled himself out of her grasp with an awkward laugh and pushed her away so he wasn't accused of taking advantage of her. Been there, done that, got the idiot t-shirt. "Hey," he greeted her warily, clearing his throat before he took another sip of his Martini. "Congrats on the whole brother marriage thing."

It was only after Neil pushed her away that Aoife really registered what she'd done. She covered her mouth with her hand as her eyes went wide. "I'm not drunk!" she murmured from behind her hand. "I mean, I'm a little tipsy, but I'm not drunk and I just saw you and I've missed you and then I was kissing you, and oh my god. I'm so sorry! It's just you were finally alone and you look amazing as usual." Aoife gave him a shy smile before she mentally facepalmed her stupidity. "Hi, erm, aye. Thank you. I have a sister-in-law. It's kinda hard to believe. Congrats on the whole brother-in-law's best friend's marriage thing."

"It's fine. Just had my fill of being accosted for the day," Neil said with a laugh as he leant against the bar. "And I, uh... wasn't exactly sure where you and I were supposed to be standing. I kind of got the feeling you were a bit pissed when I, um... the date thing. I don't know what point I'm trying to make here, only I caught some passing reference to you being set up with Gee's partner, so yeah..."

He cleared his throat, wondering why this was so awkward. He usually was anything but awkward around girls. "I don't know Stuart that well, but he and Tom look really happy. Lucky he didn't run away for good."

Gus was pretty sure he had never felt this exhausted in his life. Now that it was over, the whole day felt like the biggest haze, but from the looks of it, all his family in seeing distance was happy. Of course, Bradie was outsight, so he wasnt counted for, and Callum was... somewhere else. The two who probably really did need to stop and be okay with each other. Gus was still reeling from the whole thing, though one thing their family knew better than anything was when Bradie exploded, he exploded and it was always for a reason. It wasn't irrational, it was just a lot of pent up upset and bad timing. But they were the Evans family. They never did anything in halves ( ... )

Jules had left Kenzie in the corner at one of the tables as she made a beeline for Gus to check on him. She slipped her arm around his shoulders and pressed a kiss to his temple as she just sat next to him quietly for a few moments and joined him in watching Stuart and Tom.

This morning had been a roller coaster to say the least, and most of it she'd only learned about through text messages. She rest her other hand on his thigh and turned her head to look at him. "You alright?"

Gus nodded and threw a smile in her direction. "Aye, it's all good. Well, mostly all good. Pretty sure all of us could've done withoot the untimely blow up and I really need to try and get Cal to talk to Brades, but other than that, aye. We've all waited for this day for so long..."

He paused and glanced at her. "I have to ask, though. Did you know aboot Bradie and Kenzie? I'm nay gonna be pissed if you did. Girly talks and all that, I understand. It's just... feck. Bolt oot of the blue, and right under my nose. I had nay idea."

Jules smiled back as she gave his leg a squeeze and rest her chin on his shoulder. "Aye, agreed. Dinnae ever want to go through this again, and all I did was observe a wee bit. I cannae even imagine what it was like at yours this morning. So, what's the plan, man? Anything you need, count me in, aye? Nay letting you do this on your own."

Her eyebrows went up at the question before she gave a shake of her head. "I didnae know a thing. I was in the dark too until she exploded in tears when I told her what had been going on. I didnae think she'd ever keep something like that from me, but she did. I wouldn've told you the moment I knew anything, Gusto. Nay secrets between us."
