When I finish "Siddhartha" (I have a few pages to go, and only read when I commute), I'm going to re-think religion and life a little bit. The book's ideas appeal to me immensely. But I need to complete it, and sit down and absorb it all for a bit. But I like what I'm discovering. I'll get back to you on any changes this brings to my viewpoint. I ( Read more... )

Rui and Julianna = people who love Hesse.
I've never read him. Always meant to. Probably won't, as I'm kind of more into the beats and french existentialists.
I don't really know your thoughts on religion. let me know what you come up with after the book absorbs.

Siddhartha is crazy short, you can borrow it any time you want.
I knew Julianna liked him, but Rui too? I can see. They kind of have this inner spirituality which I can see Hesse connecting to.

I will try to write something about religion soon. It's such a strange thing for me to even think about.

Thanks, but I haven't even had the time to read any of my own books, let alone other people's. It's just been books for school, and more books for school, and more books for school, and more books for school... At least I'm an English major, though, and some of them are actually pretty cool, and not like, business or biology or whatever.

Yeah, Hesse is the only author Rui likes. Rui doesn't like to read anything, except for Hesse. Totally agreed on the spirituality in both cases.
