OK, I know the network is a business and is all about making money, but what's wrong with just embracing sci fi and accepting that while not everyone in the world will be into it, there's a huge and rabid following that has been and will be?
And this: "We really do want to own the imagination space"
They are going to learn that it's not a good idea to piss off your geek fanbase, and learn that quickly. Personally, I'm boycotting. I watched an episode of Lost a little while ago, but that's the only thing I've watched recently on that channel. It's the last thing of theirs I'll ever watch.

...except I didn't watch Lost, I watched Stargate Atlantis or Star Trek (I don't remember, it was a month ago when they made the change).
