Nearly a week had passed since Claire's arrival in Storybrooke and the subsequent disappearance of her car.  She still had no idea where her car had gone or who was behind it and it was even more confusing to her that someone wanted to strand her there in the town considering everyone still seemed spooked by her presence.  The only bright spot in ( Read more... )

Archie didn't in fact have any patients that afternoon. Whether people were more accepting of their dual natures, or their curiosity about the stranger had been sated somewhat, he wasn't sure. He just knew he had his last hour free.

Normally he'd go home, make some food, read a book. But lately he'd been spending a lot of his free time with Claire. He enjoyed her company, found its breath of fresh air. He knew it was dangerous, that as soon as she realised that the chances of getting her car back were slim, she would leave, head off out of town. But in the meantime, he was enjoying talking to her.

Today however, with his free hour, he found his attention turning to the music stand on the far side of the room. It had been a while since he'd playing anything, and he felt a peace as soon as he picked up his clarinet

She was just about to knock when she heard the music start to play and she paused with a small curious smile as she wondered at first if it was a recording but clearly it wasn't. Impressed, she continued to listen for a moment before reaching to open the door slowly, peeking in as she wanted to confirm that it was him.

It was lucky for her that his back was to her then as she leaned against the door frame and watched. For some reason it didn't surprise her that he played though maybe it surprised her that he played the clarinet.

Archie wasn't paying attention to who might be in the office, and in the end it was Pongo standing up and wagging his tail that warned him someone was there. He suddenly stopped, almost dropping the instrument in surprise as he spun around, flushing slightly. "Oh, uh, hi," he said, quickly putting the clarinet back on its stand.

She almost felt bad fit startling him, almost, but then she stepped forward holding up a hand as she gave him a look. "Please don't stop. It was very pretty."

She smiled then. "You're very good."
