Claire was a little surprised when Nathan sent her a text after she got back from Colorado but she answered him quickly.  He wanted to know how her trip was and if she had fun; she figured that maybe he was feeling a little lonely and so she offered to spend a night at his place just to hang out.  He seemed pleased with the idea, so she found

He leaned against the wall, arms crossed, just watching her. Cooking wasn't his strong suit, but he didn't argue when she insisted he help. Not this time. "What do you need me to do?" he asked after a bit.

"Do you want to check the pasta?" She smiled at him, watching him out of the corner of her eye before she looked back at the chicken that she was frying up. "Do you want a salad or anything with this?" She was making chicken fettuccine alfredo.

He nodded and moved to the stove, slowly stirring the boiling noodles. "Salad sounds good," he said. "I can make that, at least," he said with a rueful smile.

She laughed softly, "Okay, as long as you're sure you can handle it." She teased as she moved to add some garlic to the chicken.
