Materia jerks awake, with a cry of disgust, and sits bolt upright in a tangle of sweaty sheets. She's been twitching and kicking in her sleep, and the bedding is almost knotted around her legs.
"Wolf?" she cries, plaintively, before reality catches up and she remembers that her big dumb reliable brother's bed is empty. Her heart squeezes, but she's still seeing images from the dream and she can't concentrate on much besides...besides... "Oh, gawd...what was that?"
A drink of water. She needs a cold drink of water. Materia struggles briefly and manages to free herself from the ruin of her sheets, kicking them off the bed to fall in a pile on the floor. Wobbling precariously, she stands on shaky legs and makes her way into the kitchen, fumbling through the cupboard for a glass. She's never had a dream like that before.
