After so many times of watching this episode I've always wondered the same thing.... Has anyone else ever wondered what the hell Brian was doing with a switchblade?????? I think he takes it from his chest of drawers by the bed before he lays down.

Sorry, Katie, but the boring answer is that using a knife to shave parts of the apple off, and basically getting apple crisps, which are juicy and crunchy and wonderful, is the ONLY way to eat an apple!

Um, I may possibly be another apple obsessive! ;)

Ummm...
I keep one, well it's supposed to be in my bedside drawer but more often then not is in my bed... (I have a big bed and the side against the wall is covered in my crap :S)

I don't know why, but it's handy to have around, plus I suppose Brian does bring a bunch of unknown guys home, it could be a safety thing too, just in case.

:P I'm sorry for making you worry, but trust me, I have enough scratches and cuts on me without adding to it, it's all about the cat :P

Seriously though, you have no idea how handy it is to have a knofe nearby. Not that I can really think of anything I use it for at the moment, but I do use it fairly often for regular thing :P

Clearly I am behind the times - I do not have a switchblade! I'd probably cut my hand off trying to eat an apple with one! I think I'll stick with my current way of eating apples, with my mouth. You know, for safety sake.
However, Brian does look v.v. hot with it and I have always wondered WTF about it.
