Nyota curled her fingers around the bass' solid neck, as she watched Spock warm up. She'd gotten there early, so she was warmed up already. She waited patiently, then tuned her bass to the piano once it was ready. It'd been since before the Narada incident that they'd played together. Maybe this would help fix some of the distance between them. She sometimes thought that the music helped Spock express emotions he couldn't let out safely otherwise.

Once they were tuned and warmed up, Spock started with a Vulcan song that she recognized. They played through the introduction then she started to sing.
