Why do you think other writers don't bother to write 'both' sides of Jing, though, when it's obviously there in the canon? Obviously I'm extrapolating liekwhoa on it, but...

It is, and that's I think something that Kir is aware of as well. I was talking with motivatedcrime about that only a week or so ago, and if Jing ever crossed that line... that would be scary. Not in the "I'm stark raving mad and going to blow shit up GO BOOM!" way, but (at least in my opinion) a very cold, very methodical, very emotionless state -- without conscience. And that's not good. With the shit he can do, that is very Not Good.
