Still no luck

So I've been searching the nets for any hints about this graveyard thing. Started off with looking for lore or reported hauntings in this town, and got nothing. Not very surprising for such a small town. Then I tried for stories from the general area, Picton and Toronto mostly. I pretty much only came up with the usual. Orbs, ectoplasm, people who ( Read more... )

What's this about rings 'round the tombstones?

And if by "digging deeper" you mean going through crypts and whatnot, at least have the decency to knock first, yeah? Don't need some random bloke walking in on me in my skivvies.

It's a circle of rocks, just past the gate at the front of the cemetery.

Um, it was just a figure of speech. I only meant 'digger deeper' as in doing more research. For now. Should I even ask why you'd be at a graveyard in your underwear?

And we think it might be evil?

The way you say it, it almost makes me sound like some sort of deviant. A man's gotta have his private life, after all, yeah?

We do not know. That's why we are doing research.

Um... yeah.

Graveyards probably aren't the safest place to have a private life. You'd be better off breaking into a morgue.

What sort of stories? Are you researching Aternaville in general or something specific?

Ghost stories. Folklore. Anything strange that's happened in this town. Um... besides pretty much everything about how people get here.

Looking for a pattern? I don't know about ghost stories, but I can tell you the different methods of people's arrival. And the weird things that happen in town. Everyone bursting into song, turning into children, swapping genders, the earthquake. I suppose the cat mafia doesn't really count as the same sort of weird.

Jesus Chris.

That stuff all seriously happened? And people stay here?

By the way, who are you?

I'm starting to suspect a Trickster might be on the loose around here. But why this town? Aternaville can't possibly be comprised entirely of assholes, can it?

Ha. You have a point. And I guess my brother wouldn't be my brother if I didn't constantly have the urge to smack him upside the head with something really, really hard.

Yeah. And he does an okay job, I guess, 70% of the time. Don't tell him that though, he doesn't need the encouragement.

Sam... I know that what happened to River feels like the work of something evil. But after what I found at the Library, I don't think that what's there in the Field is evil after all. I found an old history of Aternaville-- did you know that there have always been witches and magic users who lived here? Like the city itself always drew people, magic-users especially, out of time and space, to live here. How do we know that the stone ring wasn't created by some of the previous citizens of Aternaville? I haven't found specific mention of the ring itself yet, but I'm still looking.
