A cousin I met via Ancestry.com had sent me this. My great-grandparents and my grandfather, great aunts and uncles. My grandfather is the second oldest in the photo.
I had seen zero till my cousin got in touch with me. So it was very cool to see! I've only seen one photo of my mum's paternal grandmother and kids. Was in a book about early settlers in the Bulkley Valley. I've never seen a photo of my maternal grandmother, though I'm told I look just like her by my mum's older sister. She gave my mum a box full of very old photos, late 1800s by the fashions, but none are labeled, so I have no idea who they all are.
I love old photographs like this. We have one from a similar era of my granddad's family in a large frame. It's so fascinating to look at them and think it wasn't that long ago, historically speaking, but seems like another world. Just amazing.
Excellent -- it's so great to see pics of where you came from!
About those old photos that no one labeled? Is there anyone in your family you could ask? Or, failing that, see if you can scan them in, and then drop onto a 'family' website. That's what we're in process of doing, as there are quite a few photos we have that we can id half the people in them, but have no clue who the others are. We're planning to add a button -- id someone -- so if people looking at it have some idea who they are, they can email us and we can match up the faces with names!

I'm amused by the swagger stick under great-grandfather's(?) arm.
