I Hate My Brain Sometimes

Jul 15, 2012 15:30

I'm starting a reread of White As Snow, now I've finished it. My usual practice after finishing a long story to see if anything leaps out at me that needs a fixin'. I'm in friggin part one, and then it hits me.

Spoilers for the story ahead and some very off the wall thoughts... )

methos, my brain, loki, fic rambles

Hee! Well, being the trickster that he is, it's entirely possible he's thought of that too and knows that Charlotte is the more susceptible one at the moment--that her own desires and hormones are easier to manipulate than Methos, who may well be Plan B if things don't go well with Charlotte.

Hell, it would be just like him to try and play them off of each other that way.

That wasn't helpful, was it?

:P No, it wasn't.

It has occurred to me, that once Loki is on Earth, during the events of the movie, that Methos doesn't keep his word to Loki. That would give Loki all sorts of leverage over him at some future date. Methos trying to save her and she trying to save him. Double argh, I say! Two for the price of one [snerk]

Haven't read the entire story yet - still need to download it and find a secluded place so I'm not interrupted - but since you mentioned Loki bearing a child as a female (mare), I distinctly remember reading that he spent several years on Midgard in a form of a human woman, married, bearing several children. What happened to them I don't know, but I believe that whole event is mentioned in the Lokasenna (I think Odin taunts him with it, to which he accuses Odin of being a crossdresser and shape changer himself). He gets around, our Loki. :)

He does get around, which is probably the only reason I'm considering it. It's canon, after all :D

And your idea made me think, well if Loki is a shapeshifter and in the myths Laufey was his mother, then perhaps Laufey mated with Methos while on Earth and thus Loki was created.

I dont know if this is an AWESOME thought or a DISTURBING one.
and i must apologize as I have not yet read all of White as Snow, please forgive me

Calling me evil just encourages the plot bunnies to breed more bunnies. Ack *goes to get the hose*

LOL! I can totally see that! And how that would be...My thing would be to see how Methos and Charlotte react to that.
