This Is My Sherlock

Feb 06, 2012 14:27

Be grateful I have a Tumblr account, or you'd be even more sick of my squeeing over The Avengers (and Tom Hiddleston)! Someone posted a 'Apologies, but tonight's an Avengers night', and I replied, "and for the next three months! This is my Sherlock." And once Avengers is done, y'all are going to have to put up with my Hobbit squee LOL - although, ( Read more... )

I will squee about the Hobbit quite happily. :)

Probably would squee about the Avengers too but apart from Iron Man the previous films have gone by without me seeing them - I'm not a Marvel fan and I have a severe lack of time and money. I will be watching Avengers for RDJ if nothing else... he's always a good excuse to watch a film. :)

No Iron Man or Avengers icon, so have Naked Mal due to the Whedon connection...

LOL the icon.

So this gives me the opportunity to ask - when people say 'I'm not a Marvel fan', because I've seen similar before, I'm assuming you're referring to the actual comics? As opposed to other brands of comics? Not being a comic reader, I'm still trying to get the lingo since there's a whole lot of convergence lately [g]

Yes, RDJ is always good to see.

Maybe I should rephrase that - I'm not really a comic fan!

As for Marvel verse, I was never a Hulk fan when I was younger and I'd never actually *heard* of Iron Man until RDJ did the first film.

The only comics I own are Highlander, Dresden Files and Torchwood and the first 2 volumes of Neil Gaiman's Sandman series (my friend is getting them for me for pressies). I also have a Firefly graphic novel and I wouldn't mind getting the Castle graphic novel either.

Not the right person to speaka da lingo to as I won't know what the hell you're going on about... ;-)

LOL! I'm not a Hulk fan either, and though I'd heard of Iron Man, heard off was it. I had no idea who/what he was. Nin kept dragging me to comic book movies, and Iron Man was the first one that made me a fangirl :)

"This is my Sherlock". I like the phrase! Must be from Sherlock season 2 ep 1, referring to Irene's password? I thought that was the best out of the five eps so far (haven't seen s2e3 yet)

It's in reference to an earlier post about giving up on Sherlock and that I wished I could share the fannish fun with my friends. I've never gotten past the halfway mark of E2.

I get a "request denied" error when I try to click through to your Tumblr account. :(

NM, was able to follow you finally. Don't know what the deal was.

Tumblr is as buggy as LJ at times. That error seems to crop up a lot.

I saw that! I'm at exactly the same place as you are wrt The Avengers and Hobbit. I'm currently immersed in all things Loki, but I'm already beginning to eye my calligraphy equipment - don't be surprised if I start posting snippets written in Tengwar some time around the Hobbit premiere!

Love me some Tengwar!

*Uses one of her comic book icons.

So we'll all meet back up virtually in the autumn. Deal?

Deal. I am a "Marvel Comics" fan, but not an Avengers fan. My preferred titles were ones featuring X-Men. I mostly saw Avengers when they happened to do a crossover with the X-Men. I've really gotten into Sherlock now, and I'm really looking forward to The Hobbit. :-D

This!

This is me!

Well, until Onslaught (Which made me throw a comic across the room...). Then, I stopped reading comics.

Now I read fanfic. :)
