Mum's making currant tarts, another batch of Nanaimo Bars (since I only got one piece of the last), and another mincemeat cake (the neighbours got the first one).
oh my. nanaimo bars. once every 5 or 10 years we'd make a batch, in a 9x9 pan...and I could eat a piece about an inch or so square. SOO rich.
In related news, I made 2 batches of butter tarts for Christmas - still haven't tracked down my mom's recipe for the filling - neither of the internet ones I found were *quite* right, although one was definitely closer than the other - and I'm pretty sure my mom's recipe involved corn syrup and vinegar. Since I didn't have any corn syrup, I stuck to fillings without, which limited my options.
I wish I could find frozen tart shells though - have yet to find any in this country!
