Notes: This contains spoilers for Captain America: the First Avenger, and follows Everything Old Is New Again, and probably before The House of Keebler (We'll have to see how The Avengers timeline plays out.). It's set a few weeks after the end of Captain America, modern day.

I'm also so very glad that Captain America didn't Joss my story idea. I thought they handled it very cleverly - Nick was there, but never overtly identified (much like Dumdum) so those who knew, knew and those who didn't weren't confused. :)

Does this mean you're back? If so, glad to see you! :)

ETA: Ok, so after a quick check of IMDB, the guy I thought was Nick wasn't. Colour me confused and embarrassed! *g*

I was about to reply to Nick not being Nick, and then you edited your comment. I thought the same thing, then was reading a thread on some site about the movie and discovered it wasn't. I think it was supposed to be initially, and then they decided it was one element too many to try and explain to the audience. I'm actually glad it wasn't, since it would have sorta Jossed my story. Though I guess AU of an AU works too!

I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'm still surprised how much I like the character of Nick. I hope there will be more, maybe even the WWII set story I've been mulling.

I don't think that they mentioned in the movie that Cap's unit was the Howlin' Commandos, so there's still plenty of room for Nick and for him to have met Cap during WWII. Dumdum could have then served with Nick after Cap's disappearance maybe...

Um, sorry, I'm justifying my personal canon here!

They didn't. Justify away LOL - I do it all the time! And Nin made me feel better after explaining that Marvel does all sorts of AUs with their characters, so really, anything goes. So my AU includes immortals, which changes Nick's timeline in this universe [g]

I really like these moments between Charlotte and Nick. I feel like these stories are filling in he blanks until the Avengers movie. It will be strange when Charlotte doesn't appear in the movie next summer.
