As I await the end of Valentine's Day, I have a poll! Since everyone loves polls.... In recent days, I've found others, like me, who have never received flowers, or any other sort of gift of a romantic nature, on Valentine's Day. So, the poll!

The first Valentines day we were together (in the 80s) my now ex bought me a dozen red roses - and then later told me it was the last time he ever would. He remained true to his word until we split up and never bought me a gift for valentines day ever again.

We did have a silly 'competition' for a few years over who could find the smallest valentines card - he eventually won finding one the size of a postage stamp (including envelope) so we kind of gave up after that. Neither of us were that keen on celebrating a day we thought was even more over commercialised than christmas.

I now get valentines cards off my Dogs Trust sponger dogs...

Nope, never received anything. But then, I don't celebrate it - it's my Dad's birthday, so my family always celebrated that instead. I never really felt the loss.

I get candy and a stuffed animal. :) I like like my plushies! This year it's a doggie and Hershey's Kisses.

My husband occasionally gives me a bouquet of my favorite flowers (Lilies.).

This year, he's deployed; imagine my surprise when a florist shows up at my doorstep with a bouquet of lilies and roses.

Believe it or not, he's the romantic one; I'm more practical. :D

For example: He likes romantic comedies and I prefer action flicks.
