I understand fully and can relate........I posted the first chapter of my LOTR tale on a group who proceeded to hack it to death because I had the affront to do an AU following the encounter with the orcs at the end of FOTR.
I had had a dream and wrote about it and had huge plans. I finished first chapter, which was quite long and actually have finished a second but now not sure if I want to try again. Maybe this time on ff.net.
The point of me droning on is GO FOR IT if it brings you joy.
I have actually been considering doing same for my tale.
My sister and brother in law, both writers and readers of LOTR, told me how good it was..........Perhaps I should have listened to them more closely and wrote off the trolls in that group.

I actually have read your stories for the fandom and like them. I hop that you do continue your WIP. I was getting interested in it.
I love flamers. I always post that I use flames to roast marshmallows in order to make s'mores. They seem to hate that leave me alone. I feel for ya!
