Today we spent a full day in Hiroshima. The weather was better compared to Kyoto (not as cold) and we really used our rail passes this day, which had three different parts:

Our first full day in Kyoto was started around 9 in the morning when we left our house. We started going around the area checking out different shrines and temples. We checked a few minor one on the way to a (relatively) bigger on up on the mountain.

We took our first ride on a Japanese train today to get from Nairta to Kyoto. We took an hour ride on a train to Tokyo, and from there we took the Superexpress to Kyoto. That train was nice and fast, and we rode it for about 2:45 hours. It is worth mentioning that the trains here keep their schedule very tightly.

It didn't seem to take too much time to get to Japan, but it still took the entire day and we Dad and I got to our hotel in Narita (the city where the international airport is located) only around 10pm.

Can't say I have seen much except for some exceptionally bright and colorful signs on the way. We got our money changed, train passes activated ( Read more... )
