Day 58: Four-Color Funnybooks for 04-02-08

Solid week, including the kick-off for Marvel’s big event book for the year.  I really want it to be good, because after DC’s Infinite Crisis and Marvel’s Civil War I’m getting a little of the ‘Event Fatigue’ due to late shipping and underwhelming story arcs.  Thankfully World War Hulk and Sinestro Corps War were good, but both of those books were ( Read more... )

buffy, secret invasion, boys, resolution, four color, event comics, funnybooks, so it begins, kick-ass

So basically Brubaker and Fraction books are having nothing to do with this? Considering that New Avengers is the book that I hate that I keep reading and any book by those other two is always solid gold (War Journal sometimes excluded) I would say that it's really telling about what's going to be happening here in the MU... just a bunch of fucking bullshit and then Iron Fist will still be a badass. I hear they're not going to be writing it anymore, though, which is super fucking depressing, as I was expecting them to take it someplace beyond spectacular after the tournament. Although, having read this, wouldn't it be weird if all the heroes that show up were, in fact, the real deal all along and the MU has basically been following the career of a bunch of skrulls... and then Iron Fist and Thor team up to beat them all to death? That's why I should be writing comics today.

Yeah, the guy doing Cable takes over Iron Fist at issue 16, and while his idea for an opening arc sounds neat, it sounds like he's sucking it hard over at Cable.

Secret Invasion will probably end up losing momentum and sucking (hope I'm wrong), but the idea is so damned interesting I'll have to see it through, if for no other reason than to see what happened to Fury.
