You know, I read the Diamond Comics.com shipping list for this week, and I was fairly sure I knew how much money I’d be dropping on books this week, and it was maybe half of what I actually spent.

Some times this damn hobby gets away from me.

This was an interesting week, because a lot of books let me down, but the ones who were good, knocked it ( Read more... )

Hmm, I have mixed feelings on your statement about Dr. Strange being wasted in the New Avengers. On the one hand I think that's a really great place for him to be with those particular heroes. He's in a great position for guidance and also think about it, Spidy, Luke Cage, Wolverine, Hawkeye... these motherfuckers fucking hate magic. It's just got potential humor in spades having him there ( ... )

I only say wasted, because history proves that in the hands of less talented writers, he sucks.

He's either some inhuman magic user, or a deus ex machina with lots of posturing, and crazy nonsense words. Vaughan proved he's got the goods.

As for five issues of ninja fighting getting boring (those are words I never thought I'd use in that order), it's goddamn decompression. It's Warren Ellis' fault, he started using it in more mainstream Western comics (it was first made wildly popular in manga), but sadly, he brought it to us, but didn't teach anyone to use it.

I can't stay mad at him.

Yeah Phalanx was kind of lame, it should have been Kang.

Finally, Aztek was only awesome when Grant Morrison wrote him, and he had one of the greatest deaths in comics.

Storm Shadow is a tag line. anonymous June 25 2007, 20:25:27 UTC
I am only a peripheral comic-reader at most, so I don't have anything of substance to say, except for the fact that Storm Shadow is a tag line. Awesome.

heroes for hire is okay. humbug was a nerdy scientist character until an issue or two ago a giant bug ate him. now hes this weird, distant, alien type dude. i dont know.

Oddly enough I thought kinda highly on the Ghost Rider WWH comic. I know, weird right? Which X-men 200 did you read? Cause the one I read had everyone at a funeral being all bitchy and whiny. I much preferred the previous issues and Endangered Species #1 which came out last week (the cover was awesome)... mostly I think it's because I really like Cable these days and it really hit hard when Providence got all assfucked. Hell currently it's not clear whether he's even alive or dead and I have no idea what the fuck is going on with Sunfire and Gambit, the former who I actually like. Are they acolytes or just assholes ( ... )
