I also just started watching it as it was rerunning during the hour I get ready for work so I never saw any of them all the way through. During their original run BBC America was in a more expensive satellite package.
Honestly, Gwen annoys the living shit out of me most of the time (mostly because of her love life) and I'm not really a fan of Owen. However I do like the others even though Jack is far darker here.
I would like to just get S1 and sit all the way through. the fun thing for me is that I've been to several of the places on the show.
I'm more than halfway through season 1 already, by Monday I'll have bingewatch at least the whole first season. I heartily recommend doing it if you get time.

Aww, I loved this stupid show. And Gwen was my favorite. She took a lot of shit from fandom, mostly as far as I can tell bc she had lady parts and Jack liked her.
You know, I thought I knew this show from the episodes I had randomly seen but I was totally wrong. At least the first season anyway has got lots of dark and deep, I can what there is to love about it. Plus all that nifty talk about sex.

I saw all of the first season of Torchwood and it never quite hooked me like I'd hoped it would. I'm getting near that part in Doctor Who again too in my rewatch with Simon, so maybe I'll give it another go. Simon really likes Jack, which I hadn't expected!

I thought Torchwood was going to be a bit of silly alien fun, with just a touch of randiness..Turning out to be only a little silliness, and quite a bit complicated randiness. At least this first season.
I think Barrowman shows up again the next Who episode, so I have that rewatch on hold while I do season 1 of Torchwood.
Somewhere there must be a correct watching order viewer's guide. I wanna do this properly. :)
Half the time it seems like Simon's only watching Who to make me happy, but last night he was the one who wanted to keep watching when I was ready for bed...I think we've reached the point where, to me, it comes into its own as a show. And it really is kind of late in the game - I remembered Tennant as being the turning point, but we're at the end of the second Tennant season now and not all of it has been that captivating.
