I am still in the process of finishing the larger fic. The problem I encountered was I was inspired to write it shortly after the release of the film and then got sidetracked and several months later was sucked into the BBC Sherlock programme.
So now I'm struggling to decide how to keep the fic itself, and I'm in the middle of several others in different fandoms.
