In a mad flurry of productivity I have purchased exactly one of the 26 books I require for the Spring semester.

I r jealous! Somehow this hasn't made it to uk_telly. :( You will be sharing? Although I heard some shady things about what Andrew Davies was doing with it, which would make me very sad...

and I am quite interested in this meme and shall promptly be doing it in my journal.

Well, having not read the book I can't really go on the warpath with unfaithful!adaptation fury but it looks like an extended edition of the S&S movie to me. And that's nothing to complain about. The scene before the opening credits though....WTF.
I have great great faith in Andrew Davies, he made Charles Dickens' Bleak House halfway interesting and that was an amazing feat.
What's awfully weird is that I don't know or recognize a single actor in the whole production! It's kinda cool, but also weird.

I have faith in Andrew Davies, too, although I think all I've seen of him is P&P - but that is enough!

No recognized actors?! Have you looked them up and have they been in The Bill? That's all that matters... ;)

I'm sure I'll find some small connection.
Oh! I lie I just remembered ( w/o the assistance of IMDB that Mr. Weasly is in it!) And he (Mark Williams) played Billy the innkeeper in Stardust! *marvels*
And now with IMDB's assistance I can tell you...
Ack! Mark Gatiss was their wuss of an uncle!
And Margaret Dashwood is played by the same little girl who was Posey in Ballet Shoes!
Aieeee!!! Brandon is Ripley Holden!!!!111!!!!!! Mi brane is Broken.

I conclude that I have a horrible memory for faces and names but further submit that the opening credits failed informed me of all the cool people in here.
