prompt from sgrio "Criminal procedure show set just after the Apocalypse."

Opening: (V.O. by Mike Rowe) The Thousand Islands is the name of an archipelago of islands that straddle the Canada-U.S. border in the Saint Lawrence River as it emerges from the northeast corner of Lake Ontario. They stretch for about 50 miles downstream from Kingston, Ontario and Alexandria Bay, New York. The Canadian islands are in the province of Ontario. The U.S. islands are in the state of New York. The islands, which number 1,793 in all, range in size from over 40 square miles to smaller islands occupied by a single residence.

When things changed, the Coast Guard stations of both former nations made an agreement: these waters will remain safe - these are their stories.

Captain Anne Montgomery of "the Osprey." (Samantha Ferris) She watches over her side of the border with a vengence - literally. Five years ago pirates murdered her husband and much of her mercy with him. She keeps on a razor's edge to the letter of the law. Her crew respect her but she is not well liked. In time, she begins to soften as the people of the islands become familiar to her.

Captain David "Davy" Campbell (Paul Boretsky) the laid back Captain of the Canadian patrol boat "Wellington", he's known for his sense of humor. One of the few people Anne "lets her hair down" in front of. Usually accompanied by his cat Tank:

Campbell insists he is not spoiled, but no one believes him.

Roy Salmonkills, Captain of the Wood Duck (Rainbow sun Francks) official patrol boat for the Sovereign Nation of the Mohawks - both Campbell and Montgomery occasionally cross paths over territorial jurisdiction, but when there's real trouble, they know they can count on him to have their backs.

Cornelia Marie Hanson (Marnie Alton) Captain of the Thunder Bay. She's the head of the fishing fleet that runs the seasonal waters in the Islands.

Logan (Jim Beaver) he's the owner and head bartender of "the Castle" on Bolt Island. The Castle is neutral ground and Logan and his bouncers strictly enforce that fact. There is nothing that happens in the Islands that Logan doesn't know about - but he never tells everything he knows. The Mohawk call him "Brown Spider."

Puck Lafayette (Michael Hurst) and his son

Gunner Lafayette (Richard Speight Jr.) The leaders of the rollicking, roving Wild Geese a.k.a Water Gypsies a.k.a the River Rats and other names. More rogues than Robin Hood ("a fellow has expenses" - Puck) they're smugglers, grifters and wee bit of thievery now and then, their exploits in escaping the law and outwitting the Guard are legendary in the Islands. A thorn in the sides of all three Captains no one knows what they're up to next!

Conroy (Jeffrey Donovan) He'll tell you he's "Vive le Quebec" out to negotiate for the newly created country. He's suspected of being the shadow behind the most notorious gang of pirates in the Islands. He may have murdered Anne Mongomery's husband. No one quite trusts him.
