Mammoth Season 1.03. Oh, god, the way Gus just kept narrating as he was making Molotov cocktails nearly killed me. The sideways reference to Primeval gave me a snicker, too. I get the idea that Nigel's just having a ball making fun of himself.

And... uh... I'm kinda starting to 'ship Seiko with Brother of Thunder...

lol, glad that I'm not the only one!

also, Gus OWNS MY SOUL for telling his audience how to make molotov cocktails. and apologizing for the lighting! also, I will NEVER GET OVER Boom hitting Neanderthals with a folding metal chair. I have wished many times to do just that.

I will NEVER GET OVER Boom hitting Neanderthals with a folding metal chair. I have wished many times to do just that.

I was going to make some kind of a joke about drunken Neanderthals being rare nowadays, but then I remembered the last time I went to a bar.

Another really strong episode, although I'm a bit concerned for the poor lighting guys...

Of course, if any kids saw that and end up burning their houses down with home-made petrol bombs, they're going to get sued so badly... :-D

Gentlemen! When the Barrage Lifts. 1x03: "Helen, lately of Troy"

OH GOD. I REALLY ENJOYED THIS EPISODE, OKAY. It was just so lush and wonderful. Which is weird since there's a war on, but still.. I really enjoyed the nurses, and Helen is just my favorite. With her story, you'd expect her to be ~tragic~ and mysterious, but she's actually quite wit. She has a sly wit, I KIND OF LOVE HER.

Is it weird that I really want to ship Miles/Carwin now? I blame the those public school flashbacks. (That was an...hotbed of adolescent feelings. I'm almost traumatized.) And I'm a sucker adversarial relationships, especially when there's friendship mixed in with it.

Aww, poor lovely Chris, falling in the mud and freaking out. You really can't tell what's in there, can you?

At least we got some strategicallynaked Bradley James, and that is NEVER a bad thing, okay?

OHMYGOD. LOVED this show. Wow.

heh - naked Bradley James = SO MUCH WIN FOR THE WORLD EVAR.

I really liked the focus on Helen for so much of this - gotta love Katie McGrath! - and also, the flashbacks were so atmospheric. I really felt like I understood her more and more! Poor Miles though... what a way to get shot down!

Also, I freaking LOVE Lee Pace. So intelligent!Lee Pace, doctor!Lee Pace, 1910s!Lee Pace is making me go weak at the knees!

I KNOW, RIGHT? IT WAS JUST AMAZING.

I love thar we got to see more of her character. She's really amazing. And her dress at the coming out ball? Oh, god. I wish people still really dressed like that. And Katie really seems to fit into the period, to the T. She's has this wonderful, classic, almost old fashioned face. So beautiful!

I hope he keeps trying. One of these days, right? :D

I love him, and in the preview when he helped Clara with a baby? SO MUCH LOVE. I hope he gets rid of that goatee though.

I've finally started watching this show, and I have to say, I love its emphasis on the way life goes on despite the war. All these people are involved in something so much bigger than themselves and yet they still have their own problems and issues to sort through.

Also, I'm a sucker for Classics references.

Paranormal Division, 1x9

WACKY CULT IN THE SUBWAY TUNNELS. I LOVE IT. (One of Mom's former students went down there and took some pictures; I'll have to see if I can get the link on here at some point. Epic awesome, using that.

Also: ...So that explains all the blood work. Poor James. He shouldn't be anyone's tasty snack!
I do like this twist on vampire bites, though. Because really, with the number of blood-borne diseases out there, it makes sense.

I thought that was cool, too. Vampires - like giant mosquitoes in a way!

And it's better than just 'it turns you into a vampire or leaves you a little anemic for a few days.' Creativity!

Addendum with those subway tunnel pictures: They live here. So whoever's doing the set, if they're not actually filming on location, is Doing Their Research.

The Fourth Wall 1.02:

I know I had my doubts last week, but now I'm definitely hooked. Mike' ability to 'predict the future' based on his books is something I hadn't thought of, but clearly he's going to have to be careful with it! And I wonder if Abby really believes Nick, or if she's just playing along for the sake of the fantasy.

I am so digging this show. It is EPIC FUN. And as an author, the implications here are very interesting indeed.

SO GLAD that even though Mike "knows" what's going to happen, it doesn't really make things easier for him. Also, I continue to be impressed with Nathan Fillion's ability to be two different people... even his posture changes! Loving it.

The thing I suddenly realized halfway through this week's episode is that in doing two people, he's doing three accents! He's using his natural accent for Mike, and doing a British one for Nick, but he's also doing Mike's fake British accent and not getting it mixed up with Nick's real one!

Oh, Defenders of the Cosmic. Interesting how just after the Oscars, they decide to re-run The Lost Moon - the one in which Captain Thrust crash-lands on a foresty world and, in the approximately three days it takes the crew to find and rescue him, he manages to save a dying civilization of nearly-naked blue cat women.

I assume that the reason the copyright holders have neglected to sue James Cameron is because they haven't been able to stop laughing yet.

At least they didn't have Ben Stiller then - thank God!

(honestly, was that supposed to be funny or merely uncomfortable?)

I hope Cameron watched that and wept (if he can find time to watch old reruns on TV in between swimming in his enormous pool of money)...that Sam Worthington has a lot of things going for him, but one thing he will never be is The Stock... I rest my case!
