Er... confession: I had a fit of nostalgia and torrented a bunch of episodes of Life in New Littleburg. And honestly, it's no Gargoyles, but it's not bad for an early 90's cartoon. I think this little show is the reason I've always thought of bees as cute fuzzy creatures while my sister, who was too young to remember it, is terrified of them. Man, the episode with the owl terrified me when I was little.

Well, they couldn't all be Gargoyles or Batman The Animated Series, could they? At least it's not just a glorified toy advert, and it does bring back the nostalgic memories... :)

Okay, officially what the hell was up with Finding Charlie this week? The first three episodes were okay... the show has an intriguing premise and I'm hoping the writing will improve, but this succubus episode? WTF, writer people? Officially WTF?

It started out so well too -

I mean, the atmosphere and the music right before the confrontation with the Priest. I was on the edge of my seat. And then... WTF was that?!? Bad CGI is one thing, but bad CGI and BAAAADDDD writing combine to make me a very confused and unhappy little fangirl.

Gahh, don't remind me. This isn't a show that should be trying to do bigass special effects anyway. The only special effect they had in the pilot was the smoky bit with Wafiya coming out of the bottle, and I'm pretty sure that was all done in-camera and with well-timed cuts. And then suddenly we get this?

Oh come on, you've seen worse on Doctor Who! I get annoyed at people who try to be "ironic" and say that things are so bad they're good, but this kind of was... I especially enjoyed the guy playing the priest in human form - as camp as a row of tents but strangely entertaining, I thought.

Maybe it's my extreme shallowness, but the trailer of The Proclamation looked really fun.

Maybe I just like the idea of Nicholas Hoult being that posh, smart-ass Prince Charming. I'm easy to please. Can't wait for the pilot.

Oooh, that ran as a commercial during Finding Charlie - I thought it looked cute! The beginning reminded me of that scene in the Jurassic Park sequel where the kid goes into his parents' room and announces, quite calmly, "there's a dinosaur in our backyard."

I really like that little kid. He's adorable! Especially his little glasses. He's younger than I thought he was. Maybe because he's so precocious?

Jurassic Park basically made me fear for my life when I was a kid. That and Jaws.

I'm a little wary... 'cute tv kids' can often turn out to be really, really annoying. I'll certainly give it a chance, though.

Did anybody else catch the pilot of The Fourth Wall? Personally I'm a little confused... in the words of another John Simm series, is Mike crazy, in a coma, or back in time? I figured it would be one of those things where it just never matters and someday in the finale he'll wake up. But then suddenly Nick is in Mike's body. I'm interested, I just really hope they can keep the two storylines organized.

I didn't think I'd buy Nathan Fillion in such a sensitive role, but he's surprising me.

The writing seems decent so far, but if it breaks down there's more than enough pretty to keep me watching. Ned/Basil is freaking me out though. Man oh man, Simm can play the evil card well.

Oh, Nathan's great, and it's nice to see that he's not getting typecast. The way he greeted Maggie Gyllenhaal, I admit, there was a lump in my throat. There just seemed to be a hell of a lot going on. Then again, they had a complicated situation to introduce and when I think about it, if they'd cut anything it probably would have been more confusing. Maybe they'll be able to slow down a bit now that they've gotten everything established.

oh my god YES. This is so far beyond epic, it is amazing. (To where I've even managed to put aside my 'Nathan Fillion = Captain Hammer' issues, though it helps that Nick and Mike are both very different characters.)
SO MUCH AWESOME.

Gentlemen! When the Barrage Lifts, 1x02 "The Glories of War

ACK. An episode that had me shouting at my television, for all the good that did. I'm starting to call the show Gentlemen!, btw, mostly because to constantly type out the name would drive me crazy.

Back the show. I hate it when characters, people get their illusions stripped away like that. Although it was interesting to see Christopher being the odd man out for once. There's probably more where than came from.

Ben Daniels! I love him, since I started watching L&O:UK. I hope nothing bad happens to him. (..Foolish hope, right?)

FASSY! What a dramatic entrance. I hope he lives up to his billing.

Gosh, this turned into an essay. Which is ironic, since that's what I'm supposed to be writing right now. >__>

oh man, I'm going to end up in a ball of angst and anger at the end of this show, aren't I?

(Which is ironic, since that's what I'm supposed to be writing right now. >__>
that makes two of us!)
