Well, my time in Japan is almost up.  For those you who don't know, I am leaving Japan on Monday, however, I am not quite returning to Canada yet.  Actually, I shall be jetsetting to the United Kingdom to be with my boyfriend and meet his parents over the holidays.  Crazy eh?  But in a really really good way! You'll have to let me know if you end up in Australia. I'll be moving to Melbourne in...Feburary or April 2008, depending on scholarships and work, etc. And I know what you mean about the packing! I'm really bad for bringing too much stuff and I'm trying to really narrow things down for when I move to Oz.

Hey Maggie, it's not that the weight allowances have changed, it's just that they're less when you fly through the UK as opposed to flying through the States. I don't know why that is, it just is.
In any case, I hope that you have a lot of fun in the UK! Say hi to Stephen for me and try to get some sightseeing in! Enjoy your last weekend in Japan!

Actually Laura, they have changed; when I came over with Air Canada I was allowed a ridiculous amount, like 2 40kg bags and carry on. I was thinking about flying to the UK and back to Canada with Air Canada (way too expensive:P) and when I was there they had a note on the main page reminding customers that the weight allowance for Japan has changed with Air Canada. You can only have 2 30kg I think it is now. Guess I didn't make that clear enough above.
In any case, I knew that going to the UK has really strict and low weight allowances, it is just more hindered by the fact that I am flying with a discount airline and they have even stricter weight restrictions.

But I think that the UK will be amazingly fun - mostly because of Steven ;) but I think it's a pretty cool place anyway :D I shall of course say hi for you, and we have plants to do a lot of siteseeing while we're there :D

I hope things work out for you dear! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you :D
