This past weekend was amazing. I don't know how I can go to work tomorrow. I just want to get on another bus tomorrow and go somewhere else. Somewhere else won't be as fun though because this past weekend was awesome because of all my friends I got to see. I wish I was on tour ( Read more... )

I really liked Into the Wild. I don't know whether or not the real-life events followed the same dramatic narrative suggested by the film, but I still enjoyed it. By "dramatic narrative", I mean his ultimately finding humility and seeing the value of human relationships. Maybe I'll read the book.

I kind of wonder if some of the narrative at the end was stuff he wrote that they found.
I have a feeling that the plant poisening is how he died cause they probably did an autopsy to find that stuff in him. But all movies stretch the truth, so who knows.

From what I read after I saw the movie (just on the internet--I didn't check out any physical books) the idea that he died from eating a toxic wild potato is controversial. It's based on an ambiguous comment he made in his daily log, but the tox screen done at the autopsy didn't show anything. Officially, he starved to death.
