This is so wonderfully delightful. I'm not entirely fan of the fandom's conception about the reunion (crying, hugging, etcetera) though I understand where they're coming from, but having THIS Watson, furious but still sad as you expressed in the memories, having the kind of power over Sherlock he always has, I adore it. I also like the mention of the coffee, nice touch.

I'm not a fan of hugging, crying and all that in general, not just in this fandom. It's cute when it happens rarely, but it also depends on characters. F.ex. I can imagine the Doctor and his companions hugging (lots of canon examples of that) and I can even imagine Sherlock and John doing that, but not in a sappy, emotive way and certainly not right after Sherlock's return. B/c despite his noble intentions, Sherlock still acted like a dick when he jumped. So yeah, he deserves being glared at and preferably punched too))))))
I loved that coffee moment so much and when it turned out to be Sherlock testing a theory, I was really angry)))) But it's so IC for Sherlock... XD I can't stay mad at him)))))

Sherlock being Sherlock, and John being a true saint that he is *___*
loved those lines:
"There was a time when nothing happened.
Nothing happens again."
I never thought of that before, I mean, that 'nothing happens to me' might as well have a literal meaning - nothing happens, and he can't bear it. and that makes sense *___*
and that part about John ruining his marriage because of Sherlock's absence rather than presence - just. so true *__* it seems that there's no life after Sherlock))
loved how John manages to confuse Sherlock))) (I sort of wanted him to punch him in the face, too, but it seems, that wouldn't be John's style)))

Sherlock is such a spoilt brat)))) I think when John forgives him, they'll go and troll Mycroft b/c in my head canon for this Mycroft doesn't know it was all a ruse)))) I didn't mention it in the story b/c I'm still unsure if that's possible, but it'd be cool if Sherlock survived without Mycroft's help. Mycroft deserves a shock))) I want to see him caaaaaringYou know, all that makes me wonder what John was like when he was young. Before the war f.ex. I can't really picture him at that age... But he has to have been relatively normal. I wonder how much the war changed him
