Guaranteed to blow your mind

Wow, will you look at that? The second post for today, about some shit again)))
I've been thinking about the stuff I like in fiction. Both in terms of reading and writing. It's not kink per se (b/c I tend to apply the word 'kink' to erotic stuff); basically just some elements I find appealing. I wonder what it says about me)))

The stuff that catches my attention )

naruto, star trek, star wars, harry potter, eq, fic rec, random insanity, tv, films

Yeah, the conflict, the new environment, the creepy-crawlies everywhere))))) LOL))) ...Romantic, isn't it? XDD
I like that thing too, but tbh I've never seen it done well in fanfic. There are some nice movies about it, though, and I'm always interested to come across that))))

XD I love this, because it's practically a reclist. <3

Ever read "Time and Again" by KyLewin? (Timetravel. The best, IMO.)

LOL, a reclist of everything from tv-shows to fanfics)))) Still can't believe I wasn't lazy enough to compile it.
I think I have that one bookmarked. Soon I'll have time to read more cool stuff; then I'll check it out))))

I pretty much like all of the ones that you listed. :3

I also... uh... like some romance. >___>; The kind that the characters have to work for, though. None of that "oh it happens all so easily fate blah blah".

I didn't list romance here because it can happen in any of these stories))) These are just... plot-devices, settings, decorations, stuff like that)))
But I agree with you)) I really can't enjoy a fic where characters suddenly realize they want to jump each other and proceed to do just that regardless of how they felt about each other a minute ago. XDDD That's dumb and unmotivated, not to mention that it renders most characters horribly OOC.

LOL, you have such a nice Karin icon that I always want to reply using a Suigetsu icon! XDDD

Road trip fics are so much fun to read--I usually expect a fairly lighthearted, occasionally cracky read, but with some serious stuff underlining the trip.

YES quests = awesomesauce, and I love love love timetravel (as if you couldn't tell ^^;; <3!). Have you read Shadows of the Future? Obi-Wan is the traveler; I managed to read the story with full comprehension despite never seeing any of the Star Wars movies. :) And ah yes, traveling-to-AU stories are so much fun too! I seriously have missed out on a lot, because I don't think I was here when you started No Major Harm... :O man, I fail.

dystopia yesssss. 8D

They can be a thriller too, like that movie about a maniac on the road, Hitchhiker or smth like that)))) Muhahaha! But I prefer something lighthearted as well. Funny, cracky and bittersweet.
Hahaha, it was reeeeally hard to notice, darling! XDDDD
How do you manage to read fics at all if you haven't seen the movies? XDD I only do that if a fic is written by smn I know)))
LOOOL, let's see if you're there when I finish it! Let's see if I'm there! The way things are going, I might never get to the end of it.
YEEEESSSSSS))))))

Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy? :P

If the fic is fairly clear about who's who, then the rest is just a quick trip to Wikipedia. (I basically read timetravel fics for fandoms I know almost nothing about, just b/c they're timetravel. XDD)

awww, you'll have more free time soon! :)

LMAO, no, but that could work too)))
Awesome then))
Yes, I will, but I didn't mean just the lack of time here. I'd rather not give in to fanfics completely again. I can't allow them to kill my originals. So the work on them is slow and I don't intend to rush it))

I like a lot of the situations you listed there as well =P I've never actually read any time travel fanfiction but I think that'd be a really interesting premise! haha

Time travel can be a goldmine of crazy situations, narrow escapes... and just plain educational)))) When my friend and I played that SasuNaru time travel game, Sasuke and Naruto actually learnt a lot about Madara/Hashirama relationship (I bet it traumatized them, but MadaHashi is SasuNaru version 1.0 for a reason!))). And when they jumped to the Third Ninja War times, Naruto found out Minato was his Dad (it was before that manga chapter came out))).

Oooh, I've never heard of that game before :O Is it actually an official game or a fanmade one?

LOL, no, it's just an RP a friend and I were playing. We wrote it for ourselves))) I think I mentioned it somewhere in this post.
