I've got a confession to make: I had such high hopes for this episode (especially after I learnt that it was blissfully Hatch-free and Fugly-free) - and I ended up yawning through most of it. The main storyline was an atrocious rip-off of the George and Tully storyline all the way back from series 1 with a dash of Kirby thrown in, except Larry

Yup, Metallica, Lady Mary with a knife and Hal dress-up were the best parts of it...

Hal's speech to Tom bothered me on so many levels >< Hypocritical, OTT and overdramatic, not to mention that thing you caught - but I think it's bad writing again. The writers ttly forgot Leo even existed this season! I hate it >

Otherwise, "We'll always have Barry" is becoming a legitimate thing now. Haha, true, but not in the sense I'd have liked it to be. XD
That gown makes him look like a pimp. Besides, if he was trying to be all proper and gentlemanly, why would he receive a lady while wearing a gown? XD
But then I remembered that masturbation really was considered a huge sin -- a weakness -- for centuries. He's a product of his times. He's not religious and he grew up in a brothel. O_o To me, it seems like yet another weird inconsistency of his character.
