I love it how they seem to get off on the rocky start but gradually develop some kind of mutual respect/interest/obsession over each other. Love all the supporting characters and the little references to the other films: such as Sarah's photo and Kate thinking about John's future (while we're at it, can I tell you how much I love your Kate? She just has this presence - if it makes a lick of sense; idk how to explain it; she's really awesome without doing much; it's like she grounds all the scenes she's in).

Hahaha, well, canon Marcus has a lot of potential but he's way underdeveloped. I took it upon myself to expand him a little but I didn't go too far. I wasn't big on him either before I started writing his POV))) It came surprisingly easy))
Awww, I'm thrilled you liked Kate b/c I had difficulties with her)))) I didn't really like her either but then she highjacked a few scenes and I was like: gurrl, you're awesome)))
I don't ship Marcus/Kyle, it's my anti-OTP, I think, but I love the idea of their friendship. And Kyle was really upset by Marcus's death in the books.
I'm kinda worried I downplayed John's reaction too much... It doesn't seem that way, does it? There is a storm but he wouldn't show it. But he probably wouldn't confess to Kate b/c it wasn't even the real sex)))

Well, you did a splendid job, imo.
I don't even like Kyle in T4 (well, I don't like T4 in general). It's not that I'm a Biehn purist, but I don't like the idea of a cute teen Kyle. Or at least I don't like the way it's executed. And I really dislike the actor who plays him. I think all the hype about him is blown out of proportion. But I think you did a great job with him here.
I think John's reaction (or lack of thereof) is just right. We only see John through Marcus' POV; it figures he wouldn't angst openly in front of Marcus, especially give all the Denial, capital D.

I like all Kyles, but I think T4!Kyle is my least favourite one. (LOL, if you're so against the idea of a teen Kyle, how about kid!Kyle in Terminator Revolution comics where he's adopted by John and his wife? XDDDDD)))
I'm not a fan of Anton Yelchin but I think he does a good job. He's a bit... everywhere though)) In Star Trek too and in a few more movies...

3 stories with this pairing? Yeah, I've read a few too. Some were good, others seemed to be a part of a longer series and I didn't really liked the development of it/was too lazy to read all of it. Dead fandom is dead. T_T

You've done a splendid job with Marcus's uncertainties about himself and John. Marcus feels very human but at the sime time the machine parts are always there.

Well, you know who John Connor is and what Terminators are; that's the most important thing, I think. Everything else could be read about in Wiki)))
Marcus is a weird character. He has the misfortune of being in a sucky movie where he doesn't really get developed (most bits about his past mentioned here actually come from the novelization, which I heroically looked through, sucky as it was). I was largely indifferent towards him before this fic somehow became a 19-pages epic from his goddamn POV! XDDDD
I love the heart bit. I guess I screwed Marcus out of his "second chance" here, but I couldn't let him die, so he's a bit bitter and grouchy about it all the time. XDDD

I dunno about the mad scientist streak but I love all the scenes in various canons where he does maintenance on his Terminators, hence... ;) Very romantic))) John ttly has a metal kink. ;)))
