A/N: This is about two years old, I think. It was supposed to be a bit longer, but after a pretty neat beginning it just died on me. I dug it up today and thought it’d make a nice drabble.
FEEL WITHOUT TOUCH
His nostrils flare as he takes in her scent, the torrid aroma of blood under her skin. He can almost see it ripple beneath the shell of her body; she’s like a candy, a dangerous delicious candy that comes in a fancy wrapper, with a stake in her hand.
His curse.
She doesn’t make him want to write poetry like Cecily did. Nor does she make him want to bathe her in blood like Drusilla. He doesn’t have to be anything but himself with her: snarky because he’s grown to like it over the years; violent because lust and denial will do that to you; caring because now he’s not afraid to admit it. He can be anything and nothing…
…but she still won’t see him.
