A/N: dune_master gave me 10 words to write a drabble with. The words in bold/italic are those words; the words in brackets signify the main theme of the drabble.

MAYBE I DON’T WANT YOU TO GO

Verdurous/Candescent (Dreams)

He wants to imagine them in a verdurous garden beneath the candescent sun melting gracefully in the azure sky. He wants to feel the kisses of the wind upon their bare skin, standing shoulder to shoulder with the only person he would ever call a friend. He wants to see them elsewhere but the dark walls of the Sound haven is all they have.

Idealism (Faith)

Kimimaro still believes in Orochimaru’s omnipotence. It’s tragically funny how their roads have led them both here. At night when Juugo’s alone in his cell he ponders all the coincidences that have contributed to their bonding; and he admires Kimimaro’s idealism. Kimimaro still has faith while Juugo has long since lost it.

String along with (Jealousy)

He hates those four that string along with Kimimaro all the time. He gets the feeling that Kimimaro doesn’t want to be alone with him anymore… doesn’t want him. He’s afraid to lose the only tie to the world he has left. But every time he sees Tayuya speak so humbly to Kimimaro and then spit when he turns away he is almost willing to let his bloodlust consume him. She deserves every minute explosion of pain he could give her while he’d tear her lithe body apart.

And then Juugo just wants to cry.

Differentiate (Doubt)

There is good and evil and it’s so hard to differentiate between the two. When the boy with magnetic red eyes informs him that Kimimaro is dead Juugo finally sees the truth. Orochimaru was neither good nor evil. He was just very weak and he failed to protect them. And in end, Orochimaru is dead too. Juugo is free when he least wants to be.

Riant (Tenderness)

“Kiss me,” Kimimaro says quietly. Despite the demure tone, his air is very commanding and somewhat anxious.

Juugo obeys, his heart beating in his throat. He’s so nervous he can feel his auburn fringe stick to his forehead in damp streaks. Kimimaro’s lips are soft like the words he speaks in the night, exploring like that naïve faith he puts in Orochimaru, a little salty… Juugo knows blood when he tastes one.

He wonders if it was he who bit at Kimimaro’s lip. Kimimaro stops him from pulling away. Juugo looks in his riant green eyes and licks the blood off tentatively. After that, he knows, everything is allowed. Because Kimimaro has just smiled at him.

Treat (Possessiveness)

Kimimaro’s kisses are bittersweet and intoxicating like a nectar in the dark. If Orochimaru only knew… He thinks he’s reserved Kimimaro for himself, a special treat. It makes Juugo’s blood boil to think of sharing. He holds Kimimaro’s delicate form closer in hopes that, big and strong as he is, he’ll be able to fight for him and keep him to himself.

Daydream (Difference)

When Kimimaro’s not around Juugo feels lonelier than he ever felt before he met him. It seems at once that Kimimaro has broken all his promises leaving him to fruitless daydreaming instead of actual romancing. It’s like he’s gone and left Juugo behind. Juugo knows it’s not true and he hates himself for mistrusting Kimimaro. Despite their wonderful sameness there’s always one thing that will be different: Unlike Juugo, Kimimaro’s free.

Informant (Kabuto)

He doesn’t know that Kabuto’s watching until he actually catches his gaze. Kabuto skews his eyes up behind his glasses and averts his gaze, pretending he has his own business to mind. That smug bastard pisses Juugo off. He wants to snap his spinal column like a stem of reed.

He doesn’t want to think of the reasons for Kabuto keeping his eye on them. Perhaps the medic-nin is just bored with his task in the North haven. Or he may be gathering information on the test subjects; after all, that’s what an informant would do.

It strikes Juugo a lot later that Kabuto is just as lonely as he is. That weird emotion in his eyes must have been envy.

Veer (Goodbye)

“The wind veers,” Kimimaro whispers vaguely.

He speaks through the crack between the door and the jamb. Juugo cannot see him but he can feel the warmth of his breath scorching his cheek. The final moment of weakness when he could say, “Don’t go!” passes.

“I might not return,” Kimimaro says.

“I know.”

“…but I will. His name is Uchiha Sasuke. I will return through him.”

All that Juugo has now is a name and a promise.

Juugo (Extra)

At first it’s ‘Juugo’. It’s neutral, somewhat curious, probing as if he’s not really sure if the name suits his new acquaintance. Kimimaro is that kind of person when he’s relaxed: he may light-heartedly suggest Juugo change the name.

Later, it’s ‘Juugo-kun’ to indicate they are friends now. Good friends, too. Juugo likes the postfix. He thinks it makes their relationship look more significant because the others are just “that scum” in Kimimaro’s eyes. There’re only Orochimaru-sama, Kabuto-san and him, Juugo-kun.

And the one night Kimimaro tears his shirt open and lavishes his chest in greedy open-mouthed kisses; and it’s ‘Juugo’ again, though not the way it used to be. Now it’s passion-strained, and anguish-filled, and scorching, and arousing, and it swells in his chest and between his legs and makes him want to submit to Kimimaro in every way possible. He kisses Kimimaro’s silvery hair and flicks his tongue over the curve of his jaw. He buries himself inside Kimimaro to the root and sets the pace that makes them both writhe and pant and groan throatily, and Kimimaro screams his name, just his name… Right now it needs no additions.
