I just stumbled on your blog, and this is clearly Ancient History and all.
But I am moved to vent.
Felix, my beloved tabbyboy Buddha cat, just fell over dead one day.
(One day four years ago, but you don't get over these things quickly.)
I did my due diligence on-line, and discovered feline heartworm, which pretty much seemed to describe things.
Hideous MegaVet, though, poo-pooed concept, claiming cats just didn't really get heartworm.
(We are in canine heartworm hotzone - when they have those color coded maps, we're in their worst color.)
I have already dumped MegaVet for other crimes, but now feel yet more justified in having done so.

I will now add anasty sniff to my slight frown as I walk by their office daily.
