I'm in the process of setting up utilities for our new place.  I got a bundled package of cable, phone, and net from Time Warner Cable.  For a little extra, I'm going to have 10 Mbps downstream service, and 1 Mbps up.  That's about ten times faster than my present service ( Read more... )

The other piece of the puzzle is whether they give you a decent modem or not. I've been through many crappy ones with both of my cable companies. My current one (an Ambit model U10C018) seems to be one of the good ones.

We're happy with TWC and we have the increased down and up speeds because of work needs. We don't seem to have near the confusion that we used to get with AT&T. Also we don't seem to have the random service interrupts that we used to get with AT&T either.

Hee, I guess ATT is luck of the draw, too. I was a very early adopter of ATT DSL, and have been on it for about eight years. It's been as close to rock solid as could reasonably be hoped.
