Green

I finally bought that old Steve Hillage album (Green) I've been wanting for a couple of years. Yes, I do move slowly at times. :) I needed to order a book for work from Barnes and Noble's online store, and it turned out they had the album in stock. My self-control was at a low ebb, so I bought it despite my current attempt at budget discipline ( Read more... )

Maybe you should play her the "Allez Ali Baba Blacksheep Have You Any Bullshit:Mama Maya Mantram" from Planet Gong's Live Floating Anarchy album!

That definitely goes on my best-titles list. Another contender: "Mummy Was An Asteroid, Daddy Was A Small Non-Stick Kitchen Utensil" by Quiet Sun. And of course "Several Species..." by Pink Floyd.

That is a very fine album indeed. It's actually out-takes left over from "L", but to my mind is possibly even better. Gong's "You" is still the peak point though...

I've been listening to some Gong on Rhapsody, and love it. They don't have that album, though. Looks like I have my next bn.com impulse purchase lined up. :)

If you really want to go the whole hog, get Gong's classic
Radio Gnome Invisible trilogy:

Flying Teapot
Angel's Egg
You

It's one long magical plotline spread over three albums. Seminal stuff. Hillage has never been better.

from 'Green' the track 'ether ships' is far far away the best. Trust an old hippy, try it, give it another spin. Steve, Liverpool UK
