Is it possible that you have a connection with one of the stars? [Is he prying, he wonders...]

Only once?

No, a few times before when I was a little kid before that. But they were all just little things, you know. Typical stuff kids write down as wishes.

"I wish to be able to eat my vegetables..." That sort of thing? [He smiles just slightly.]

Ah, but I can understand. Still... Three years on the rock. [That's a Japanese proverb.] It does not seem as if that sort of thing is meant for wishes, and yet I think it can apply to many things.

... That's right. I made a mistake though. As a little kid, I wished for something that was more or less impossible, especially compared to those other things, so...

Ah, I do not wish to pry, although it is a bit sad to see citizens losing sight of such deep traditions...

Don't worry about just the loss of one. I'm sure that instead of me, there are at least ninety-nine people who can't wait to celebrate Tanabata.

Even the change in one... is something I can feel. [TRUTH OR LIES YOU'LL NEVER KNOW but it does mean something to him]

[ NGL THAT DOES MAKE HER FEEL A BIT BAD.. at the very least unsure.. ]

In that case, I'm sorry. Maybe someday I'll change my mind, but I don't see it happening anytime soon.

There is no need to worry. [He's just selfishly trying to keep traditions INNOCENT SIDEGLANCE... not that she can see]

In any case... I hope you are doing well, considering the situation.
