'twas the weekend before midterms and i need a break

Acoustic versions are usually on the list of things that make me sad about the world today. Then every once in a while someone does something redeeming, like Against Me!'s You Look Like I Need a Drink (acoustic). I actually heard the acoustic version first with that one. Yikes, I just realized that emoticons must register differently in my brain than regular typing because I don't know how to make smiley faces. I keep trying to do them in qwerty. So I decided to go old school instead.

I feel very psychotic lately ... my brain doesn't appear to be communicating with itself very well. I surely confused a great deal of customers while waiting tables over the summer. Took jokes too literally, was constantly laughing at jokes that never made it out of my mouth ... found myself standing it really strange postures (like a flamingo, balancing on one leg) while taking orders. Oh dear.

I was reading a book by a neurologist who had a stroke recently. She described the brain as an enormous room of filing cabinets, which she, post-stroke, couldn't reach. I appear to be able to reach mine ... but upon opening them, I discover nine-tenths of the contents have devolved into penguins.
