If you find yourself in the West Village a huge favorite of a friend is the Fatty Crab (superb Malaysian food, hard to find even in SF)

There are a lot of fun things to do around Radio City Music Hall (6th ave and 50th), especially if you like taking pictures.

1. Top of the Rock - view the city from the top of Rockefeller Center (between 6th & 5th Ave on 50th)
2. Backstage tour of Radio City Music Hall (6th ave and 50th)
3. St. Patrick's Cathedral (5th ave and 50th)
4. Museum of Modern Art (between 6th & 5th Ave on 53th)
5. 5th Ave Apple Store - (5th Ave and 58th)

If you check out google maps you'll see how close all of these things are (except maybe number 5)

Yea, I second all of these although I'm unfamiliar with #5. And while you're in midtown, there's the observation deck in the Empire State Building on 34th. The blocks are quite short so it's not that far away. 20 bucks or so for the express tour with almost no wait.
