Good Lord, I´m feeling so... utterly and gut wrenching frustrated right now!

This monday I started a new class. Ortho is all about anatomy and carpentry and I hate both of them. But here´s the trick, Every day the teacher ask 3 of us a question. During the course he will ask 3 questions to each of us. To get all of them wrong is to lose your right ( Read more... )

That sounds terrible! How can they get away with that?! Is your professor seriously trying to give his students mental breakdowns?

Well, I think there´s a pretty good chance he is.

See, for some reason that I´ve still to work out, med school is not quite like other careers. Probably because here, half the teachers are docs with god complexes the size of Texas. To show some kind of 'weakness' is cardinal sin.
So it´s kinda like the natural selection theory: if you have a breakdown (at least a public one XD) you must be weak, so you better drop it now. If you endure, you can pass to the next level, in which another doc will try to break you down, and so on...

Well geez! I have a new found respect for you! I could never go through that much stress. I'm happy with my boring old English major because if I mess up on a paper, no one dies... at least I think no one does. :)

On the other hand, I'm going to have a heckuva time getting a job come December! :O

I'll agree - maybe I'm just spoiled but that does seem way too harsh a curriculum requirement. Maybe they're trying to thin out the herd by giving most of you heart failure before you can graduate. Does you school take out life insurance policies on it's students by any chance ( ... )

LOL I wouldn´t be surprised if they did.

Thank you so much to you and the hammie squad for getting me out of the dark place. Just picturing the little fellas cheerleading with tiny outfits and pompoms is enough to get a HUGE smile in my face for the next to days, and that´s without adding the little Let´s mosey! reference on top.

Don't be down on yourself too much bb. We've all been there. Where you study your ass off and it seems like your efforts have gone to waste somehow--no, don't think like that. Cuz your efforts will always get you somewhere, even if it may not seem like it now. They will pay off. You can just get the next ones right! :)

You know, that´s actually very similar to what my mom told me when I gave her the offline version of the rant XD So, if the two of us say it, I must accept it as the undeniable truth. I only wish that at least it were one of those classes I´m gonna need the rest of my life, like cardio, so I could said it payed off a little bit sooner.
