Getting late to the party...

Apr 12, 2010 12:59

Have you ever been invited to a party that you can´t wait to go to, one of those times when you are counting every day, hour and minute left to the big day, and when that day finally arrives, Murphy law kicks in and you end up getting 2+ hours late?

That´s me right now.

I´ve been waiting for the Bones 100th episode for so long that I actually had it ( Read more... )

bones, temperance brennan, b&b, seeley booth, rant, pairing, reflections, randomly rambling

The 100th episode of Bones just about broke my heart.

I was sitting there going, "Yes! It's going to finally happen!" and then, "WHAT?! NO! ARRRRRRRRRRRG!"

I know! They are almost there, and then....

But as I said, I think we still have hopes for another confession not so far away...

Yeah, I don't see Booth being able to find anyone else, and if he does, he might just start rationalizing himself on why he can't go out with the girl anymore because it obviously isn't Brennan.

lol This reminded me so much of that time in season 4 when a coworker of her dies and Booth wants to charm some information out of the real state chick and he tells Bren not to come and that he can be devastating charming when she is not looking.
Oh the wonders of surrogate relationships!

Thank you for such a rational take on this. Personally I loved the scene at first viewing because it shows that stuff and life and such is not always neat. A lot of B&B shippers acted like this is the end of the world for our beloved duo, but it's not. The show goes on. They will solve crimes, and bicker (maybe more harshly than normal), and generally carry on in such a manner as to make fangirls hit here-to-fore previously unknown octaves and decibels of squee. All the while B&B will do their little mating dance towards the inevitable.

However on a secondary note, I'm honestly a bit little irritated with Booth (or just whoever wrote him) because I felt like he just "sprung" it on her if that makes any sense. Bones doesn't react well to emotional surprises and I think Booth would know that. I don't think her reaction would have been all that different, but still. Then again, it's not the first time he's been written out of character by TPTB...but this time we can't blame it on a brain tumor.

They are in collision course, there´s not changing that. All it remains to know is when.
And yeah, it maybe it wasn´t the smartest move to approach Bones like that, but it´s not completely unreasonable either. I think he wasn´t really planning to make his move when they leaved Sweets office, like it was more of a "I have to do it NOW, before I lose my nerve!" kind of thing. So he acted completely on impulse... and failed. But I´m gonna stick around till he does it right.
Or she does. :)

That makes sense. As a fellow guy, I can see how Booth would do something like that.

Behold! I have been friended!

I haven't watched Bones, but I understand what you mean by trust and the fear of giving your heart to someone. I'm still struggling with that fear. Even if one day I meet someone I could love, I don't know if I have the courage to give in. Sometimes I think it's better not to get into that mess.

Your comment about Bone not wanting to ruin her wonderful relationship with Booth reminds me of Tifa's quote, "Sometimes being childhood friend is hard". Childhood friends turned lovers is the most beautiful relationship, in my opinion, but can you imagine if it doesn't work out? You'll lose your life long friend.

But nothing venture nothing gain, right? The most frightening thing about relationship, no matter how much in love two people are, is it a leap of faith.

OMG, you nailed me! LOL
I can see so much of Cloud and Tifa´s relationship in that of Bones and Booth, and that might be part of the reason why I love those pairings so much.
I know this might look like shamelessly self-promoting, but I would really LOVE if you could take a look at my Bones fic "Lines&Pies". There are some goodies that you might not catch if you haven´t watched the show, but I promise is not Bones-fans only. Besides, I love getting feedback from writers whose work I admire. And I really think you would be very interested in my special guest... XD

Pretty pretty please, with a Cloud plushie on top?
