Lines & Pies

"Lines and pies, man. That s my life. Just lines and pies." "And whose line would that be?" Booth receives some advice from an unexpected source... "You are safe but, are you satisfied?"

This is the very first story that I wrote directly in English, so I´m hoping it´s not too bad. This can be taken as just before CitC or even at the beginning of the ( Read more... )

granted I've only watched a handful of episodes for Bones so I'm sure I'm missing goodies - all the same, I like the chemistry Booth and Bones have in the show. Adding Tifa to that was just extra and I loved her 'fairy tale' version of the story (not to mention, nice spin as doctors). Down at the core though - yeah, it was a story about taking the risk and I loved that. Very nicely done and it gave me a lift at the end :D I loved Booth's attitude at the end - operation 'screw the line' indeed. Go Booth!

tough - thought ;) darn spell check always misses that one on me too

I love Bones&Booth for many of the reasons I love Cloti. I recommend you to at least watch the 2nd and 3rd seasons, they are awesome. Most of this fic actually came to me while thinking about how much I would love to see someone giving the talk to Booth... while I was in the shower XD What can I say? Some people sing out of tune, I plot. I have some very weird moments of inspiration, don´t I? XD
Thank you very much for the little grammatical tip. I already corrected it. See you around ;)

First off, you picked a great title, and I like that you consistently maintained that two motifs throughout the story. It gives the story a strong coherence.
The conversation between Booth and Tifa is deep but hilarious too, especially when she begins her story with "once upon a time" and Booth's "are you serious" reply. I can hear his incredulous voice with that reply.
This is the first fic I read that have one of my OTP as a guest appearance, and it makes me feel delightfully strange. I could see Tifa giving her advice after what she's been through to people in similar situations.
Lastly, I liked your conclusion that Booth and Bones differences are only superficial or else they could not have worked together for so long. I'm convinced.

P.S I was also drooling for some apple pie while reading this.

Oh hun, sorry for taking so long to reply! I swear you, I squealed when I first read your comment, but I got a little sidetracked, resulting in this dreadful lateness.
Originally, the Cloti part of the story was supposed to be a stand alone, but I realized that I really don´t know much about the american health care system, so I decided to included it here. And I´m relieved that you, a true Cloti fan found this part alright, cause I was really worried about making it too Grey´s anatomish. But my baby is the truth behind the opposites attract theory, so I´m very glad that you liked it!
PS. If apple pie is not written down somewhere as a basic human right, I demand that it gets there!

Well, that's good, and yes, it is indeed Cloti in every way that counts. I'm glad I picked up on your comment when you reviewed for--(hmmmm, I forget now what you reviewed. Sam Jazz's update? Kitsune's Avatar? Feeble old brain cells and synapses anyhow!!) and you steered me to your story! Recliner chair person across the room is a huge fan of "Bones", and watches it even when he's seen the episode before. I don't really watch it, but it catches my eye and some of the story line seeps into my noggin as I sit on the couch reading. He tells me that the tv show has very little to do with the books. You did a very nice job with this story. In one place you referred to the 'diner' (where one eats) but you called it 'dinner' (what one eats in a diner ( ... )

Thanks for the correction! Those details sometimes get a little fuzzy for me nnU
And yeah, the show is very different to the books, but I think both are great in their own way. There´s no win without risk, and sometimes it gets hard to balance safety with satisfaction, but there are some lines that you just have to cross.
I´m really glad that you liked this little piece! :)
